Hi there, Just a little update today, lots going on these days,
maybe its March madness. Our main concerns are our two
black labs. Recently we took our dog ”Buzz” in for surgery
for a torn ACL. So far his recovery has been difficult and to
top it off Buzz shows no interest in food, which is unheard
of with him. My other Lab “Quinn” who is 18 years old…
Dave and I are in the middle of remodeling our bathroom,
Our biggest hold up is deciding on the tile for the floor and
tub area, hopefully we will make a decision this weekend!
Before I head out, last week I showed you a picture
of the beginning of a “Viking knit chain charm bracelet”
that I was learning how to make. Here is the finished piece:
I love how strong the .999 fine silver is and the wonderful shine
that the silver give off, and it does not tarnish! It took me a while to knit
the silver, but the first time is always a learning curve .The clasps
that I made for this bracelet came out a little different then intended,
but decided to keep it because it works so well. I ordered new supplies
this week and can't wait to make another one!
Thank you for stopping by ~ Take care, Nance

It’s been awhile since I have taken pictures, and since I
enjoy photography so much; a picture is worth a 1,000 words!
I am taking a class to learn how to make a “Viking knit chain
charm bracelet” here is the beginning. We started out with
craft wire and then moved into fine silver wire. Did you
know fine silver wire will not tarnish. Next week I will take
a picture of this bracelet and my end results, I am keeping
my fingers crossed…..
Here is a peek into our bathroom remodeling…
not moving along to fast, but its started…
And a look at our weather this morning and for the weekend.
Rain, typical for this time of year. Living close to Lake Ontario gives
us lots of over cast, cloudy days…
Oh yeah, I do have a couple of new “Digs” to post, but this time I am
Enjoy your weekend, see you soon with some new pics ~
my best to you, Nance

OK, enough of this snow stuff, it’s time for spring.
We’ve been having some nice sunny days and temps up in the 50’s
in Upstate, NY. It’s starting to feel like Spring.
On another note, I just finished setting up a shop on Etsy.
For those of you who do not know what Etsy is, it is a place
for people to sell handmade items and such. Thought I would
give it a shot, check it out if you like …Etsy, I also made a Etsy
button for my menu.
Tonight I am taking a class from “Lets Bead”, located in East
Rochester, NY. We will be learning how to make a Viking Knit
Charm bracelet. I thought learning this skill might spark some
new ideas, who knows. I will take some pictures to show you
when I’m finished with my project. Speaking of projects I need
to show you what Dave and I have been working on. See
you soon and Thank you for stopping over ~ Nance

Lots of snow in Upstate NY, and it keeps on coming.
Want to come join me for a drink on the deck???
My shipment of supplies came in on Saturday
and I’m happy to say I have some new jewelry to post…
Winter Rose bracelet and ... Winter Rose necklace, ... Pink Ice
necklace (the focal bead is made from pink depression glass),
and …Mardi Gras necklace and …Pearl Shine earrings.
I’m not sure when I will be back with new digs? Dave and
I are in the process of ripping our bathroom apart for a much
needed makeover! My annual taxes are due, fun stuff!
I’m sure I’ll be back with some pictures. Take care and

As I am typing this, the sun is streaming into my windows.
This is a good day to take a day-tripper! During this past week
I spent most of my time putting together jewelry from all the
beads I made from last week…whew, I think I am going to
change that, maybe make one set at a time and post.
Since Mardi Gras has been going on, I thought I would
reflect that into my beads. If we can’t go to the Mardi Gras,
we can certainly celebrate it here, right!
“Miss CoCoa Liza”… finally arrive yesterday, LuLu’s cousin
from Cocoa Rica. We call her Cocoa Liza because her heads
like a little bald coconut. She is good with that.
set, but am waiting on supplies.
The glass Angels worked with me this past week. I was able
to make several matching pairs of beads on my torch.
Unbelievable because it’s difficult to match two beads up at
one torch session. Why? Because when I finish the first bead
it quickly goes into the kiln to be annealed, and the second
is made from memory, how much glass did I use, colors, layers?
More coming tomorrow because it is time for me to take that
day tripper. Thank you for coming by. My best to you ~ Nance

Can’t say if it’s the time of the year, creative surge, oxygen generators
running nicely, cabin fever, but I’m addicted to my torch these days!!!
This past weekend I worked about 18 hours in my studio making
beads. So as soon as I get it all together there will be a flurry of
new digs. On another note, recently LuLu confided that she was
lonely. She asked if her cousin from the Caribbean could come
join her. So I placed a quick phone call to her native town of
CoCoa Rica and she agreed to come up and join us. Her name is
“CoCoa Lisa LuLu” and will soon be arriving. We just can’t wait!
See I told you…. Thanks for stopping over ~ Cabin fever Nance

Good day my beadest friends! Just a little bead chat for today.
Yesterday I cleaned up my workstation and I am gearing up
to make beads. Presently my color pallet of glass to work with is red,
black and white (but that might change)… In my picture below
you can see my glass rods. The glass that looks like light amber will
turn into a bright red after working it in the flame. This is called a
striking glass, where you heat and melt, let it cool, than heat up
again. The color of the glass will start to turn red if you strike it
right. It can be tricky, depending on the batch of glass you get.
I also wanted to show you some of the tools I work with. I have a
